Platinum Flag Electrodes

The Platinum Flag Electrodes from Asynt are made with only the highest purity materials, designed and built around your exact electrochemical application to be both robust and effective.
We have electrode specialists that supply all the materials (Pt wire, Cu wire, Pt flag) that are incredibly high purity, which are difficult to source otherwise.
As standard, we build these with 1.0 mm Cu wire, 15mm length/0.38 mm thickness Pt wire and 0.02 mm Pt flag thickness but we can specify each length and thickness to your requirements.
Design parameters include:
• Length, width and thickness of the platinum flag
• Total length and thickness of the platinum wire, length that protrudes out of the glass from the bottom
• Total length and thickness of the copper wire, length that protrudes out of the glass from the top
• Total length and diameter of the Pyrex glass stem
• Optional: to back-up the platinum to glass seal with a potting compound

ReactoMate Drain Manifold Kit

No more mess!
ReactoMate Drain Manifolds are designed to allow you to drain recirculating thermal fluid quickly and easily from your reactor vessel jackets, further minimising downtime between vessel swapping.
Built to perform and to last
Precision engineered in the UK from stainless steel with the high build quality Asynt is renowned for, the ReactoMate Drain Manifolds prevent fluid loss and contamination during the transition between vessels.
Keep your fume cupboard safe and clean
By utilising these drain manifolds, it’s so easy to remove the heating or cooling thermal fluid from your reactor vessel jackets. This prevents it from dripping all over your fume cupboard (which is an expensive waste), stops it from becoming contaminated during changeover (more expensive waste), and reduces the safety hazard that spilt fluid presents.
Use with our Quick-Release Couplings for the ultimate in easy vessel changes
The Quick-Release Couplings are designed to be used both with or without tools, so it’s entirely down to you and how you’re most comfortable working. The soft-grip PEEK locking nut with scalloped edges makes for easy tightening by hand however this is machined with spanner flats on the back face.
Manufactured in the UK from chemically resistant PEEK and stainless steel components, the couplings are high quality, chemically resistant and reliable. This system is simple to use and puts minimal stress on the glass joints on your vessels. The ReactoMate Quick-Release Couplings provide a fast, reliable solution for swift changeover of vessels and reducing downtime between reactions.

Scientific Glassware Repairs

We have all been in a situation where our most useful piece of laboratory glassware becomes unusable due to damage.
This might not mean it needs to go in the recycling bin though as often our highly experienced glass blowers can repair even complicated breaks.
We offer a no-obligation quotation service so send us a photo of the damaged item and we’ll do what we can to help.
It may also be useful to make changes to existing glassware. We can update reactor vessels, change port sizes and more so contact us with your requirements.

Static dissipative PTFE reactor accessories

We offer both standard and custom manufactured static dissipative PTFE reactor lids, stirrer shafts, couplings and temperature accessories; providing a wide range of interchangeable components for use in potentially explosive environments.
The addition of conductive pigments makes the PTFE conductive and allows for earthing, preventing sparking from electrostatic charging.

Laboratory Reaction Vessels

With a wealth of experience in scientific glassware and engineering, we can offer a huge range of ReactoMate laboratory reactions vessels. Whether you need mobility tanks, jacketed vessels or vacuum jacketed vessels we can work together to provide you with the perfect system to suit your chemistry.
In addition, as all vessels are manufactured specifically for you here in the UK, we can customise your chosen vessel to include a wide variety of accessories such as PTFE or stainless steel agitation, standard or magnetic couplings, a range of taps and valves, and baffles to name just a few. Baffles can be built in to the reaction vessel itself or can be provided as part of a PTFE structure that can be added/removed as needed.
We also offer ReactoMate reaction vessels with an amber coating for those carrying out photochemistry, and stainless steel vessels for those requiring them.

ReactoMate Baffle Systems

ReactoMate baffle systems are available in a wide variety of forms and can be off-the-shelf, or manufactured to suit your specific criteria.
Asynt work closely with a company called Analytical Innovations to provide essential tools and know-how for efficient process understanding and optimisation, in particular relation to scale-up work.
Analytical Innovations’ research involves assessing how various types of agitator, the size and shape of the reactor and the addition of baffles affect mixing capabilities.
Improvements can be made as simply as follows:
• Changing from an elongated reactor (“sausage shape”) to a squat reaction vessel
• Replacing anchor stirrers with four pitch paddles blades
• Via the addition of ReactoMate baffle systems

Jacketed Reaction Vessels

As with any jacketed reactor vessel system, we understand that your needs may change over time and alternative vessels may be required without your whole system being replaced.
We can work with you to supply new ReactoMate reaction vessels from 50 mL benchtop scale to 50 L + pilot scale single jacketed reaction vessels. You may choose from clear borosilicate vessels or with an amber coating for reduced effect of sunlight on your work for example.
We can advise on alternative shaped vessels and baffles. Changes to these specifications can have a huge effect on stirring – examples can be seen on the “video” tab here.
With over 30 years custom scientific glass blowing experience, we can also advise on repairs and customisation of existing vessels along with other laboratory glassware.

Vacuum Jacketed Reaction Vessels

Vacuum jacketed reaction vessels are ideal for low temperature operation.
Asynt offer ReactoMate systems in both pilot and bench-top scales with optional vacuum insulation jacket which allows higher performance at low temperature with the added advantage of the reactor remaining ice free. This therefore allows clear visibility of the reaction when working below 0°C.
We tested 2 identical 5 litre Asynt ReactoMate vessels: one standard jacketed reactor and one with the optional vacuum jacket. These were used with the Julabo Presto circulator system.

PTFE Components

PTFE Reactor Lids:
The Reactor Lid System is designed to provide a versatile and cost effective means for the assembly of a whole range of components in flanged reactors and similar vessels.
• Robust material offers reduced risk of damage to lid from dropping or fractures
• Designed to securely support a wide range of standard & analytical probes
• Reduced lid condensation during reaction
• Improved thermal insulation compared to glass
Other PTFE Components:
We can offer a broad range of PTFE components which are

Magnetic stirrer heads

These magnetic stirrer heads are ideal for PTFE jacketed stirrer shafts.
Consisting of capsuled drive shaft (stainless steel) with ball bearings, rotor and lower bearing made of PTFE/PEEK and a hollow shaft made of borosilicate glass.
These require little space due to compact construction. No leakage or memory effects due to non-porous, welded rotor. Compression fittings for safe fixing of stirrer shaft and optimum power transmission. Suitable for flat flanges of Duran (former Schott AG), sealing to be made with a gasket of your choice. Square size 6 mm for accepting an agitator or a stirrer coupling.
