PressureSyn – High safety reactor

PressureSyn – High Safety Reactor: Asynt has collaborated with The University of Nottingham to bring their expertise & respect for the safety aspects of working at high pressure in the laboratory to the general market in the form of PressureSyn; an accessible benchtop scale high pressure reactor, with novel safety features built-in.
Why is PressureSyn so unique?
With a vessel volume of 125 mL, maximum working pressure of 180 bar and temperature of 200 °C with heating via any hotplate & stirring via magnetic flea, what’s significant about PressureSyn is the unique safety key & locking clamp mechanism that does not allow the vessel cover to be removed whilst any pressure remains in the system. Every safety key & clamp are unique therefore ensuring that it cannot be undone with a spare, and include features which automatically release any residual pressure prior to removing the cover. This high-safety single laboratory pressure reactor also features a double pressure relief system with both a bursting disk & pressure relief valve.
PressureSyn laboratory pressure reactors are designed to work on any magnetic hotplate stirrer; a special DrySyn adapter plate allows the secure placement of the reactors on the hotplate stirrer; together with enhanced temperature transfer and the ability to control external temperature from a standard 3 mm thermocouple.

High pressure single reactors

The Asynt compact high pressure single reactors are designed for bench top use and allow for easy charging, product recovery, and cleaning.
In the smaller and mid-sized model the entire vessel is simply lifted out of the heater by hand and with no elaborate set up required, this is a simple but very effective unit. It is securely situated on your magnetic hotplate stirrer via a DrySyn adapter base.
Available in a wide range of standard sizes in two handy pressure ratings, these single position reactors offer great flexibility through a range of accessories and options. You can choose from various build materials to suit your required temperature range and chemical resistance, but you can also incorporate multi-position inserts, borosilicate or PTFE vessel liners, alternative o-rings, and much more.
Another useful feature of the compact high pressure single reactors is that, because every one is manufactured to your specification, you can easily re-site the gauge to accommodate higher temperatures than usual, or alter the fittings on a particular port to suit your apparatus, or make any number of small but significant changes to suit your needs.
The standard specifications are incredibly useful to many scientists, however these are also available as an entirely bespoke reactor system to suit your needs.

Custom High Pressure Reactors

Custom high pressure reactors from 5 mL to 50 litres plus, tailor-made to your exact requirements.
We can customise these reactors to suit your very precise requirements so whatever you need for the work you wish to carry out will be built in to the design; whether that’s temperature, pressure rating, size, chemical resistance, sampling, charging, heating, cooling… the ways that your reactor can be tailored to your needs is incredibly comprehensive so if it’s something you’re considering, please talk to one of our team today to discover what’s possible.
Materials of construction, always a critical factor in the design equation, include stainless steels – super duplex, 316 and 321 to name but a few for most standard units, and a wide variety of other grades for special duties: Ferralium, Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel, Incoloy, Nickel, Nimonic alloys, Titanium, Zirconium and alloy steels.

DrySyn Pressure Reactor Adaptor

The DrySyn Pressure Reactor Adaptor is made to measure for your individual reactor, enabling it to sit securely on a standard hotplate. Made from anodised aluminium, this is designed to last and provide safe and secure fitment and excellent heat transfer.
Manufactured in the UK by our in-house engineers, each pressure reactor adapter is finished beautifully to suit any benchtop cylindrical high pressure reactor.
Alternatively, for those with a reactor with a diameter of 51 mm, there is an off-the shelf DrySyn Classic adapter insert enabling you to secure your vessel via a DrySyn Classic Base.

Plant scale pressure reactors

The Asynt pressure reactors are available from 5 ml to 50 litres as standard, custom made to your exact requirements.
